As someone who lives in Gibraltar, I can confirm you captured it here:

That is the key point Gibraltar is a real place first, rather than a ‘destination’.

And for most tourist yes it is a single day / day-trip vist place, that is the ideal period of time for most of what is available for tourists on the surface.

[Caves, tunnels, upper rock (generally), seeing the airport - or staying low with a dolphin trip etc.]

Personally, I think you would really enjoy the Great Siege Tunnels (which it sounds like you missed) and the more recently opened WW2 tunnels (althoug only a small sections of the more than 30 miles of tunnels is open to the public).

Glad you enjouyed it anyway. It’s a real place.

There is more, but you need to change mode a bit. Certainly not tourist, but visitor….

I quite like the weirdness of it just sitting in a field, makes it a bit more imposing in some ways. Went to have another look at it the other day myself but couldn’t remember how to get there and had left sat-nav at home.

Hi,

I cycled past that a couple of days ago. It is the spookiest sight I’ve ever seen! It does look they’ve landed from another planet and will suddenly stand up and come for you. Really glad I know the history behind it though. Thanks for posting that (maybe it should have a sign next to it to help people understand what it means?).

Hi Rich, the only tools I used for this were Photoshop (to plan the layout) and Flash CS4, I suspect that Flex would have been a better choice but I don’t have access to it at the moment and Flash works ok for me. Backend was done in PHP using my own libraries.

Great stuff I am about to start something very similar only using two tile lists one for the resource bin and one for the selected files. What would be even more interesting if you have time is some info on what tools you are using (ide etc )
